 2009 Northern Plains Inventors Congress - January 13, 2009

The Northern Plains Inventors Congress (NPIC) will be held in Bismarck, North Dakota on January 13, 2009, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. (Admission is Free) in cooperation with Marketplace for Entrepreneurs, organized by U.S. Senator Kent Conrad.  All inventors, entrepreneurs, businesses and service providers are invited to attend this annual event that attracts individuals from across the United States.

Metropolis Magazine challenges young designers to apply their innovative talents to our energy addiction and rethink the broken models that represented 20th-century life and work. Live EDGE Global Environmental Challenge

Entries are invited for the $100,000 USD Live EDGE global environmental challenge for 2009.  To enter, your design must be original and innovative, use electric and/or electronic components, and positively impact the environment, such as by increasing energy efficiency or reducing carbon emissions.

Braun Prize 2009 International Design Contest

Braun 2009 is an international design competition open to young industrial designers who are still studying or who have graduated within the last two years. Students are invited to submit their product concepts to Braun. The total prize money amounts to EUR 36,000.

Intel’s INSPIRE•EMPOWER Challenge is a contest open to all individuals, developers and organizations worldwide, as well as the general public. The Challenge is for the creation of innovative solutions addressing one of four global issues - education, healthcare, economic development, and the environment.

AIA Ideas Competition 2009

Architects, students, and allied design professionals are invited to submit sketches to the international 2009 COD Ideas Competition, titled "Listening to the Past, Looking to the Future: A House for Today." In this unique sketch competition, submitters are asked to explore the legacy of modernist design through a concept design problem.

Your submission must be unique and protectable. Your item must fall under our merchandising strategy of offering the best, the only or the unexpected. Your item should be a product that will appeal to a well educated, well-traveled, affluent and mature customer base. Our customer is wealthy but avoids conspicuous consumption. They want quality.

2009 Imagine Cup

This year's theme is "Imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems facing us today." The competitor’s charge is to address The United Nations hardest challenges in the world today, identified in its Millennium Goals.  The competition categories include software design, embedded development, game development, robotics and algorithm, IT challenge, and MashUp. Each category has its own rules of entry.

2009 R&D 100 Awards

Entries are invited for the prestigious R&D 100 Awards that have been helping companies provide the important initial push a new product needs to compete successfully in the marketplace. The winning of an R&D 100 Award provides a mark of excellence known to industry, government, and academia as proof that the product is one of the most innovative ideas of the year. Any new technical product that was first available for purchase or licensing between Jan. 1, 2008, and Dec. 31, 2008, may be entered.  An “early bird” deadline has been set for February 15, making it possible to submit your product a second time with input from the R&D Awards Committee. All winners will be notified of the judges' decision by July, 2009.

BKFK Invent A Game Contest

The BKFK “Going Green Challenge” invites entries from children between the ages of 5 and 19 to enter new online games. You don't need technical or illustrative skills to enter, all entries are expected to be entirely conceptual. The winning game will be produced by Electronic Arts  and will be rewarded with $10,000 Face Value U.S. Savings Bond.

Samsonite Baby Travel Design Competition 2009

Samsonite Baby Travel contest encourages the design of innovative travel products related to traveling with babies and toddlers. Eligibility extends to all students, designers, engineers, and inventors over the age of 18.  Your product should represent real innovation and fulfill the main criteria for traveling; compact, lightweight, easy to use, safe and durable.  Prizes include: €5000, €3000 and €1000 for the first three winners; five Judges Special Awards of  €500 will be awarded.

International Bicycle Design Competition

The Bicycle Design Competition is sponsored by the Department of Industrial Technology, Ministry of Economic Affairs, R.O.C. and managed and produced by the Cycling & Health Tech Industry R&D Center. The sponsors anticipated that it could become a channel of communication among bicycle designers, manufacturers and aficionados from all over the world. We hope that through the coming together of different design concepts and cultures, bicycle product design can be promoted worldwide. Moreover, we also wish that a way of life incorporating bicycling could be spread worldwide, and make a contribution to improve environmental conditions. We take great pleasure in inviting you to participate in the ONLY worldwide bicycle design competition!
