FC Girondins de Bordeaux moved top of Ligue 1 above Olympique Lyonnais on goal difference after a 2-0 win at AJ Auxerre on Saturday.

Wendel strike
Amid heavy rain in Burgundy, Laurent Blanc's charges took the lead on 34 minutes when Auxerre goalkeeper Olivier Sorin could only palm Fernando's effort into the net following a corner. Les Marine et Blanc had to wait until eleven minutes from time to secure the points, Wendel touching Yohan Gouffran's deft header from Yoann Gourcuff's free-kick past Sorin.

Sunday matches
Bordeaux will drop to third on Sunday if Lyon overcome AS Monaco FC at Stade de Gerland and UEFA Cup quarter-finalists Olympique de Marseille beat Grenoble Foot 38. Toulouse FC leapfrogged LOSC Lille Métropole and Paris Saint-Germain FC – who meet in northern France on Sunday – and deepened FC Nantes' relegation worries courtesy of André-Pierre Gignac's 19th league goal of the season. Stade Rennais FC consolidated seventh spot with a 1-0 home victory against second-bottom AS Saint-Etienne.

Rémy double
Two goals from Loïc Rémy earned OGC Nice a 2-0 home win against FC Lorient while Reynald Lemaître struck three minutes from time as SM Caen beat bottom side Le Havre AC 2-1, leaving Nantes in the bottom three. AS Nancy-Lorraine ended Valenciennes FC's 13-match unbeaten run with a 2-0 win at the Stade Marcel Picot, both goals coming in the final two minutes, and Le Mans UC 72 moved five points clear of safety by beating FC Sochaux-Montbéliard 2-0.
