Chung Cheng High School prepares pupils to sit for the Singapore Cambridge General certificate ‘O’Level Examination. Preparation extends over four years form Secondary 1 to 4.

Assessment
Assessment for Secondary 1-3 will consist of both continual Assessments and Semester Assessments. The Weightage for Continual Assessments and Semestral Assessments vary for different subjects and different levels.

Promotion Criteria
For promotion at Secondary 1 & 2, Pupils must obtain at least a 50% in the average marks from all examinations subjects plus at least 50% in English Language.
For promotion at Secondary 3, Pupils must obtain a credit pass (C6) in at least 3 subjects including English Language.
A pupil who fails in the school examination at secondary 1 & 2 will be transferred to the next level of the normal stream. Since there is no Normal Stream in the school, such a pupil will have to leave the school to continue his/her studies in another school with a Normal stream. A pupil who fails at Secondary 3 or 4 may be allowed to repeat another year. However, if he/she fails in English Language but has passed in 5 or more subjects he/she will be advanced to Secondary y4 express.
