Pink Talks "Funhouse" Tour

Pink4 When Pink came up with the circus-themed theatrics for her "Funhouse" tour, she didn't think she'd be sharing her big-top theme with another pop singer.

She sighs with resignation when a comparison is made to Britney Spears' latest tour, "The Circus," which, like Pink's tour, features high-flying dancers and acrobats, and is a grand spectacle.

Both Pink and Spears based their theme on the title of their latest album (both CDs were released last year; Pink's came out first). Spears' tour opened in March. Tickets for the U.S. leg of Pink's tour, which started in Europe, went on sale Saturday.

"Had I known that certain other people were going to base their latest thing about circus things, I probably would have went into another direction," the big-voiced, 29-year-old singer says.

Depeche Mode Still Going Strong

Dm3 Underneath the gloom, members of Depeche Mode insist they're actually lighthearted and funny.

"I've never quite understood that description," frontman Dave Gahan said during a recent interview. "I understand that we're dark, but there's always been humor in there. It's this cynical sarcasm about yourself."

Gahan and his mates, guitarist Martin Gore and keyboardist Andy Fletcher, have spent close to 30 years mining a subtle black humor from their coupling of submission with dominance, love with hate, hope with regret.

And they do know how to have fun at their own expense: take a look at the 1997 video for their hit "It's No Good," which lampoons them as a has-been lounge act.

"I think people sometimes miss things that are humorous in our music," said the soft-spoken Gore. "People seem to spend way too much time thinking about what exactly we're trying to do and what exactly we mean."

Coachella In Photos

Jake2 The sucky economy and sudden SoCal heatwave didn't keep music fans from paying $120 a ticket and showing up in droves last weekend for the annual Coachella music festival in Indio, CA. Check out just a few of the highlights in pictures after the jump.  ...

Beyonce Talks Tour, Movie And Twitter

B1 Beyonce says one of the toughest parts of her summer tour has been condensing more than a decade's hits into a two-hour show.

Judging from a recent photo shoot, figuring out how to perform them in Thierry Mugler's elaborate, over-the-top costumes is just as difficult.

Beyonce strutted gingerly in one such outfit, with a motorcycle handle-type top and flashing light at the center. But the camera brought out Sasha Fierce, her alter ego moving confidently in the outrageous getup and stiletto heels.

"I'm never gonna go on stage or do a video and not work until my feet are blistered, and until I'm basically, I can't walk any more," the giggly but exhausted entertainer said later. "I always give, and I do that because I know how lucky I am, to do my job."

Stevie Nicks Explains Why She's A Technophobe

Nicks1 Friends who want to get in touch with Stevie Nicks know not to send an e-mail, call on a cell phone, or reach out by text message, because she won't respond.

It's not that she's being rude: Nicks doesn't own a computer or a cell phone. The 60-year-old rock legend, who is currently on tour with Fleetwood Mac, is a proud technophobe.

"I believe that computers have taken over the world. I believe that they have in many ways ruined our children. I believe that kids used to love to go out and play," Nicks says in her famously smoky voice.
