The Jerusalem Post
Read about the Jerusalem Post's implementation of FatWire’s Content Management System (CMS), which provides an international content website with efficient, advanced online content update and management capabilities.
BACKGROUND
The Jerusalem Post is an Israeli newspaper in English, in circulation since 1932. The newspaper's daily print distribution is tens of thousands of copies. The online version is a popular source of Israeli current affair information worldwide.
THE CHALLENGE
The Jerusalem Post online website version was established in 1995 and functioned using a simple content system implemented and maintained by an internal Jerusalem Post team. In 2000, the Jerusalem Post Manager of Information Resources chose Future Tense Content Server CMS (now FatWire) as the website platform. In 2005, the Jerusalem Post needed to upgrade to the newest FatWire version. The company selected eWave’s development team to help upgrade from the old website code inspection and migration system to the new one.
THE SOLUTION
As FatWire’s representative company in Israel, eWave had extensive project implementation experience in FatWire’s Content Management Server platform. Based on the WebLogic application server and Oracle’s database server, eWave updated the system to its most current version, adding more services, such as an article talkback service, to the basic services provided by the content server.
THE RESULTS
The system was launched with the Jerusalem Post’s complete satisfaction. The site has been effectively serving the company and its customers ever since.
