United Nations Volunteers:

United Nations Volunteers is the volunteer arm of the United Nations. Created by the UN General Assembly in 1970 to serve as an operational partner in development cooperation at the request of UN member states, it mobilizes qualified UN Volunteers and encourages people to become active in volunteering in their countries.

NetAid:

Since early 2000, NetAid, through a service managed by the United Nations Volunteers programme, has brought Online Volunteers and organizations in developing countries together through the largest database of online volunteering opportunities anywhere in the world. NetAid Online Volunteers sharing their time and expertise to help organizations that address issues and conditions in the developing world. These volunteers help without having to leave their homes. They volunteer on weekends, in the evenings, on their lunch break, or whenever their schedules permit. They volunteer from home computers, work computers, or computers in public access centers.

CCIVS:

In 1948, the Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Services (CCIVS) was created by UNESCO. CCIVS gradually extended its sphere of activities to include organisations in Eastern Europe, North America, Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Idealist Organization:

Action Without Borders is a global network of individuals and organizations working to build a world where all people can live free and dignified lives. Its web site lists a database of thousands of volunteer opportunities in communities and around the world, and a list of organizations that can help with volunteering abroad.
