Financial assistance

Sydney Water wants to ensure all our customers continue to have access to essential water services. As we understand there may be times of financial difficulty, Sydney Water offers a range of assistance programs to help you pay your bill and save water.

Payment arrangements


If you are having difficulty paying your water bill, you can contact us to make payment arrangements that suit your financial circumstances. We may:

Payment Assistance Scheme (PAS)


If you are having difficulty paying your water bill, you may apply for payment assistance vouchers. Sydney Water works with many community agencies to make these vouchers available to customers experiencing hardship.

PAS vouchers are available to customers who own and occupy their home or private tenants who are responsible for paying for their water use.

Community agencies that participate in the Scheme include:

No Interest Loans Scheme (NILS®)


Sydney Water supports a No Interest Loans Scheme (NILS®) to help customers in financial difficulty. A number of accredited community agencies provide these loans to help customers buy basic household items such as water efficient washing machines.
