I haven't seen anyone that is using a USB card with KXdrivers. It's impossible because the USB cards DO NOT use the same DSP chip.

- i read that tuning needs to have a DSP (like in a regular sound card) to work and "The Bloat" doesn't have one (i'm pretty sure), how are they doing the tuning?
Depends on if the tunning is done via hardware or software. The VST/ASIO method is all software and the DSP is your CPU. The KXdrivers use the built in hardware/DSP chip on the soundcard even though it's software controlled.

- is console used instead of kx, or with it?
Depends on if you want to use VST plugins with your KX compatible soundcard. KX has it's own plugins though, but the VST ones are more powerful. There is a tutorial on how to combine the two in the wiki.

- do i need to use kernal streaming or asio, or does it matter?
Both bypass windows kxmixer, but some hardware does not like to share ASIO with other software if that makes any sense. kernal streaming output from the software audio player is your safest bet to get it to work with various tuning methods.
