A City of Lorain Income Tax Vote was on the May 5, 2009 ballot in the City of Lorain in Lorain County, Ohio.[1] It was approved.[2]

Lorain voters decided whether to renew Lorain's one-quarter percent income tax. The decision to put the income tax renewal on the ballot came in a 10-1 vote by the Lorain City Council on February 3, 2009. Councilman Dennis Flores, D-2, voted against the renewal.
The one-quarter percent tax generates about $2.2 million each year for the city. It expires at the end of 2009.
It was originally passed in 2005 to supplement the income tax revenue the city lost when the Lorain Ford Assembly Plant closed.
The city hired a marketing company. Burges and Burges, to develop a campaign strategy, according to Mayor Anthony Krasienko.
