[edit] Guidance on reverting vandalism

Hi. I just noticed that you reverted vandalism on the Malcolm X page caused by User:68.55.222.76. Thanks for that, reverting vandalism is a very important task on Wikipedia. However, in future can you please leave a warning on the user's talk page? This will serve the dual purpose of encouraging the editor to stop their destructive activities and will also let other editors know that the user has a history of vandalism. For the full guidance on dealing with vandalism and what warning messages to use, please see Wikipedia:Vandalism. Thanks again. Road Wizard 13:53, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Philly pages

Maybe you should develop a User:Medvedenko page ... ;-) --evrik 20:36, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Portal

I like a lot of the work you have done on the portal. It's good to see someone else take an interest. --evrik 20:08, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

  • I don't mind collaborating, or that there is a difference of opinion. Next time ... give me a head's up. As for the content ... please leave boathose row, and I think we need a woman in the biogrpahy for the next few months to balance things out. --evrik 19:48, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Portal Tagging

Why are we disagreeing on this issue? I think tagging articvles promotes Philadelphia and the work of the wikiproject (pretzel or not). -- evrik 20:07, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cradle of Liberty Council

I expanded your last edit, and tried to add some more information. --evrik 15:28, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] My project page

Thank you for noting the redirect link on one of my project pages (User:Cobaltbluetony/Project Pages/Haddon Township). However, is it necessary to edit material which has not been formally submitted to an article? - CobaltBlueTony 15:17, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

It was harmless; I was just wondering how you came upon it. I imagine that sort of fix would have been picked up if/when I submitted the article. No worries, though. - CobaltBlueTony 17:53, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] By the way

[edit] The Wire

I've tried to address some of the concerns you raised at The Wire (TV series) FAC including the TOC and repeated links. There is an ongoing discussion about the subsections of the Themes section and I wondered if you would have time to offer any further feedback.--Opark 77 21:38, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] BBC News Peer review

Hi. Thanks for your comments on the BBC News peer review. I will act on your suggestions and hope others will do so as well. Wikiwoohoo 16:50, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Regarding your suggestions, would you agree that the substantial section and subsections relating to criticism be removed as a whole and summarised, with links to their new locations? That was an idea I had for that part of the article. Wikiwoohoo 16:15, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. I will try to work on the article where I have time to make the improvements. Your suggestions are very much appreciated. Wikiwoohoo 18:38, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Philly meetup

Hi! There will be a Wikipedia Meetup in Philadelphia on 4 November. If you're interested in coming, RSVP by editing Wikipedia:Meetup/Philadelphia 2 to reflect the likelihood of your being able to attend. If you have any questions, feel free to ask CComMack's talk page. Hopefully, we'll all see you (and each other) on the 4th! --evrik 16:44, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cultural depictions of Philadelphia

I fully understand the purpose of the Cultural Depictions article. I simply don't agree with your interpretation. Expanding the introduction in the manner you should suggest would alter the article's fundamental purpose, and that's just not proper. -- ABCxyz 02:34, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm not trying to be argumentative or condescending, so please don't take it that way, but here is one of Merrian-Webster's defintions of "culture" --
"[a] the integrated pattern of human knowledge, belief, and behavior that depends upon man's capacity for learning and transmitting knowledge to succeeding generations, [b] the customary beliefs, social forms, and material traits of a racial, religious, or social group, [c] the set of shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that characterizes a company or corporation"
Believe or not, those things are embodied in a parade as diverse as the Mummers. It is not simply a parade, and cultural depictions need not be fictional. Even televised coverage of a circus is a depiction of culture (though I wouldn't put one on the list). That's why I disagree with you.

[edit] FA Nomination

You have recently left a comment on the Avatar: The Last Airbender FA nomination. I would like you to please review your comment because we fixed the article a little and we want your opinion on which of your objections still stand. I would appreciate greatly. Thank you. [edit] Open solicitation for input/advice

Hello! There's been some recent activity getting the ball rolling at WikiProject Journalism, and if you'd like to join us, I'm sure your input would be valued. In particular, User:Wiki Wistah has proposed a guideline for editing articles about newspapers, and although I've responded with comments of my own, WW rightly suggested that it should be more than just a two-way conversation. I've noticed some of your own edits on related matters (especially The Philadelphia Inquirer), and thought you might be interested. Any suggestions would certainly be appreciated. Otherwise, if this is not of interest to you, or if you've already got a plateful of editing, feel free to ignore this message! -Tobogganoggin talk 02:06, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

I really appreciate you nominating an image that I uploaded for deletion. It spices things up and gives me something to do. Next time though, since we have worked together in the past, could you give me the courtesy of asking me first ... or perhaps bringing a potrntyial issue to my attention. Thanks. --evrik (talk) 23:08, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Inquirerfront.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:Inquirerfront.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:20, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] invalid geocoordinates

The coordinates you added to Commerce Square are invalid because the number of minutes in the latitude (95) is greater than sixty. Perhaps you meant 39.9541 degrees north instead of 39 degrees 95 minutes 41 seconds north. Please check your sources and fix the coordinates in the article. --Stepheng3 (talk) 02:38, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
