Living Forgotten Realms Updates
Writer's and Character Creation Guides

This week, we have some updates to the Living Forgotten Realms (LFR) campaign. First off, there's a new RPGA Character Creation Guide available (version 1.7). All updates are in red to make it easy to see the changes. We've also updated the LFR Writer's Guidelines to account for some changes. If you're thinking about writing for LFR, be sure to grab the updated document.

In addition, we have the answers to a couple of burning questions below!

Q: I played the LFR special adventure SPEC1-1 Shades of the Zhentarim at a convention in August. I selected surge armor +1 or shared suffering armor +1. I noticed that upon reading Adventurer's Vault, the armors had different levels than what was listed in the adventure. What do I do?
A: There are two new armors to replace surge armor +1 and shared suffering armor +1. Veteran's armor +1 replaces surge armor +1 and veteran's armor +2 replaces shared suffering armor +1. If you have selected either surge armor +1 or shared suffering armor +1, you may replace it with the appropriate choice, or you may remove the armor from your found items list. If you remove the armor from your found items list, you receive the found item "slot" back for later use.

Q: I heard about adventuring companies at GenCon Indy. When will more information be released on them?
A: Adventuring companies are an upcoming organization run entirely by players using rules that will be a part of the next RPGA Character Creation Guide update. Essentially, you will be able to create your own organization within a series of parameters that will be announced soon. Members of adventuring companies will enjoy some minor game mechanical benefits. Adventuring companies will consist of at least four characters, with no upper limit on the number of characters that can be a part of one company. Each character can be a part of only one company at a time, and each player can have only one character in each company. More information is coming before the end of the year!
