"The efficient use of labor would lead to high production, growth and a rising standard of living."

-- Adam Smith

Filipiniana.net, the premier Philippine digital library, is partnering with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the lead agency in formulating and administering labor policies and programs, to create an online portal that focuses on all aspects of labor and social relations -- the Philippine Labor Studies Website. This project aspires to be the most comprehensive repository of all information related to Philippine labor studies, which include inter alia labor laws and social legislation, labor policies and programs, significant data and statistics, labor concepts and facts about Filipino migrant workers. Presented as a humble contribution towards promoting awareness of the different areas of labor, it aims to provide each and every citizen with the knowledge needed in order to ensure that the rights, dignity and welfare of our nation's most important resource -- the Filipino people -- are well respected and protected.

The Philippine Labor Studies Website is dedicated to all the Filipino workers, both within the country and abroad, on whose backs and shoulders, hearts and minds, rest the fate of our nation.
