-
Black Moth Super Rainbow: "Twin of Myself (The Go! Team Remix)"
The Go! Team work their remix magic on Black Moth Super Rainbow's "Twin of Myself", from this year's Eating Us, reconfiguring the track's shimmering chimes and Dave Fridmann distorto-drums, and pairing them with their trademark bells and whistles.
MP3:> Black Moth Super Rainbow: "Twin of Myself (The Go! Team Remix)"

David Lynch, Fox Bat Strategy: "Shoot the Works"
David Lynch, along with the photographs and vocals he recently contributed to the Danger Mouse/Sparklehorse Dark Night of the Soul project, has another new music-related endeavor on the way. Fox Bat Strategy: A Tribute to Dave Jaurequi is a seven-track album featuring lyrics by Lynch due out June 30 via Rykodisc and David Lynch Music Company. Take a listen to the sparse, eerie ballad "Shoot the Works" at EW's website.
Stream:> David Lynch: "Shoot the Works"
-
Fever Ray: "Triangle Walks (Rex the Dog Radio Edit)"
Rex the Dog's remix of Fever Ray's "Triangle Walks", a standout track from this year's self-titled LP, is pretty faithful to the original, supplementing the track's rhythm for some heavier beats and a few knob-twisting turns, but preserving the stuttering production and, of course, Karin's dark vocals.
MP3:> Fever Ray: "Triangle Walks (Rex the Dog Radio Edit)"

-
Radical Sons: "I'm So Sick of the 21st Century"
St. Louis' Radical Sons, recently signed to Secretly Canadian imprint St. Ives, will be releasing the Throwing Knives EP next week. Take a listen to the rootsy swagger of first single "I'm So Sick of the 21st Century".
-

MP3:> Lusine: "Two Dots"
-
The Skygreen Leopards: "Dixie Cups in the Dead Grass"
Jagjaguwar will be releasing the newest Skygreen Leopards LP, Gorgeous Johnny, on July 21. The follow-up to 2006's Disciples of California finds the duo again aiming for sun-drenched pop, as you can hear in this first track, "Dixie Cups in the Dead Grass".

-

Being a girl in a band is approximately like paintball-bombing a snooty rooftop soirée (?), according to Sonic Youth's latest video, for The Eternal's "Sacred Trickster".
-
Jenny Lewis: "Black Sand"
Kaleidoscopic visuals and weather maps abound in the newest Jenny Lewis video, for "Black Sand" from last year's Acid Tongue.

-
Memory Tapes: "Bicycle"
Memory Cassette and Weird Tapes are joining forces to become (drumroll) Memory Tapes! The project will have a debut LP out in September, and first single "Bicycle" will be out in the first week of August, but you can hear it now on the official blog.
MP3:> Memory Tapes: "Bicycle"
-
The Gossip: "Heavy Cross"
The Gossip are back, and their latest track, "Heavy Cross", which we reviewed recently, now has a video with a throwback glam theme. Not quite as viciously ironic as their other recent Music for Men promo, but that would be asking a lot.

-
The Knife: "Colouring Pigeons" (from Tomorrow, in a Year)
Remember when we told you that the Knife would be scoring an opera, inspired by Charles Darwin, to premiere in Copenhagen on September 2? Well, we weren't kidding, and now there's proof: you can hear a (too brief) sample of "Colouring Pigeons", ostensibly a piece from the larger work, Tomorrow, in a Year. As you might expect, it sounds like a disembodied Knife song, a female's vowel-only vocals ping-ponging over some tribal drums and spooky snyths.

-
Friday Bridge: "This Case Is Closed (Johan Agebjörn Remix)"
Here's a new remix from Sally Shapiro's producer, Johan Agebjörn, of a track from Swedish electro-pop duo Friday Bridge. Agebjörn's trademark sparkly synths and Moroder-esque bassline form a billowy disco bed for Ylva Lindberg's airy vocals. A nice jam to kick off your weekend dance party. The Bite My Tongue LP is out now via the But Is It Art? label.
MP3:> Friday Bridge: "This Case Is Closed (Johan Agebjörn Remix)"

War is the theme of Depeche Mode's new video for "Peace", from Sounds of the Universe, which follows a (discharged?) female soldier through a day in the civilian life, haunted by her memories in the service as she spends her time washing dishes in a diner.

-
Bat For Lashes: "Daniel (Tara Busch's AnalogSuicide Mix)"
We can still hardly get enough of Bat For Lashes' awesome single, "Daniel", which is lucky, since EMI is offering a free download (name and email address required) of a new remix by Tara Busch, which reconfigures the tune into a stormy, mechanized collage, while still managing to maintain the original's haunting mood.
MP3:> Bat For Lashes: "Daniel (Tara Busch's AnalogSuicide Mix)"

Grand Archives: "Silver Among the Gold"
Seattle's Grand Archives are readying their sophomore LP, Keep in Mind Frankenstein, for release on Sub Pop on September 15. Judging from this first track, "Silver Among the Gold", the follow-up to last year's self-titled debut will continue the tradition of sun-soaked Americana.

-
Ganglians: "Lost Words"
Ganglians are be the newest addition to the Woodsist stable (full-length Monster Head Room is out now), and while they may not worship scuzzy lo-fi sonics as much as labelmates Wavves or Crystal Stilts, there's a pleasantly homemade quality to their tunes, and "Lost Words" is as good an example as any of their psychedelic noise-pop.
MP3:> Ganglians: "Lost Words"
-

God Help the Girl: "Funny Little Frog"
As Stuart Murdoch told us a few weeks ago, some of the songs from the last Belle and Sebastian full-length, The Life Pursuit, were originally destined for the new God Help the Girl project. Here's the version of "Funny Little Frog" from the latter, with a jazzier arrangement and a female vocalist.
-
Sean Bones: "Dancehall"
It's a little more straight-up reggae than dancehall, but that's the title of the first track from Sean Bones' forthcoming Frenchkiss debut, Rings. The Brooklyn artist, who stars opposite Norah Jones in the politically-themed road flick "Wah Do Dem", also roped the songstress into an appearance on his album, which is out July 21.
MP3:> Sean Bones: "Dancehall"
-
Bobb'e J. Thompson: "Bro Mitzvah"
Don't know much about the Cartoon Network's newest star, Bobb'e J. Thompson, except that he played Tracy Morgan's kid (Tracy, Jr., of course) in "30 Rock". But Aziz Ansari has just alerted us, via his blog, to this pretty hilarious video in which the precocious young actor wishes for a black Bar Mitzvah.
-
