Capitol isn't done with Radiohead yet! Thom Yorke and co. may no longer have any ties to their old label, but Capitol has the band's entire pre-In Rainbows catalog at its disposal. And if there's still money to be made off of these old Radiohead records, best believe Capitol is going to make it.

Last year, the label released a Radiohead greatest-hits collection without the blessing of the band. We hated it. But this past March, the label released expanded double- and triple-disc versions of their first three albums, and we loved it.

See, there's a difference between good reissues and bad reissues. The full-album reissues are the good kind. With those first three albums, Capitol crammed in every B-side and rarity they could find, and in doing so they actually managed to flesh out those classic titles (and one not-so-classic title) even further. And, of course, the albums themselves are still great. We dropped 10.0s on the expanded versions of both The Bends and OK Computer, and we're probably not done handing out rave reviews yet.

On August 25, Capitol will complete their expanded reissue project with the next three Radiohead albums: 2000's Kid A, 2001's Amnesiac, and 2003's Hail to the Thief. Once again, these reissues come stuffed to the gills with B-sides, live songs, studio sessions, and everything else that didn't make it onto the actual albums. And the even-more-deluxe Special Collectors Editions will also come with DVDs, which will include music videos and TV performances.

Every Radiohead album after Pablo Honey is arguably a masterpiece; even Hail to the Thief has its staunch defenders. So we are eagerly awaiting these reissues, whether the band is happy about them or not, unfortunately.

Black Lips + King Khan + Mark Sultan = Almighty Defenders

Hey remember back in January when Black Lips had all that drama in India and they ended up getting the hell out of the country as quickly as possible? Well, as we reported, they ended up safely in Berlin, where they hung out with their buddies King Khan and BBQ (aka Mark Sultan).

While everybody was in town, they formed a big ol' supergroup together and recorded an album. The Lips/Khan/BBQ teamup has been given the name the Almighty Defenders, and they'll release their self-titled debut September 22 on Vice Records.

The Almighty Defenders played their first show June 17 at NXNE. Apparently, they wore choir robes. Black Lips are on tour now; they'll hit the Pitchfork Music Festival on July 18. The King Khan & BBQ Show is also on the road.

Premiere: Cymbals Eat Guitars: "Tunguska" [Stream]

Best New Music honorees Cymbals Eat Guitars will have a new 7" out via Transparent in the UK on July 20, and only Pure Groove will be selling it. The single even comes with a free prize for the first 300 buyers: a slap bracelet! (Hey, remember 1990, when we were all accidentally slitting our wrists? Fun times!).

Islands Announce Third Album

Islands Announce Third Album

On September 22, Anti- will release Vapours, the third full-length from Islands, the fractured pop project from former Unicorn and current Human Highway man Nick Thorburn, aka Nick Diamonds.

In news that is sure to delight Unicorns fans, fellow former Unicorn Jamie Thompson, otherwise known as J'aime Tambeur, has rejoined the group. Thompson recorded Islands' 2006 debut Return to the Sea with Thorburn but left the band for 2007's Arm's Way. And now he's back!

Thorburn produced the album alongside Yeah Yeah Yeahs/TV on the Radio boardsman Chris Coady. We've got the tracklist below. UPDATE: We're told that wasn't the final tracklist, so it's been removed. Sorry!

Hear the New Bloc Party Single Here

Bloc Party's new single, "One More Chance", arrives August 10 via Wichita, but we've got a sneak peak of it right here. It was produced by Jacknife Lee (who also worked with the band on Intimacy and A Weekend in the City) and mixed by Philippe Zdar (who worked on the new Phoenix album).

News in Brief: Georgia Theatre, Shunda K, Throw Me the Statue, Street Scene

-- The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Athens' Georgia Theatre, a longtime center for the Athens music scene, suffered extensive damage in a fire this morning. There were no injuries, but the entire building was destroyed except for the exterior. The cause of the fire isn't yet known. The venue was set to play host to a number of bands during next week's Athfest.

-- Shunda K, a member of the Tampa-based dance-rap crew Yo Majesty, has parted ways with Domino Records, Yo Majesty's label. She's also released two new mixtapes for free download. One of them, The Best Eva Written: OutKast, features Shunda spitting over OutKast instrumentals. The other, Kollaborations, consists of team-ups with artists like Peaches and Tha Pumpsta.

-- On August 4, Secretly Canadian will release Creaturesque, the sophomore album from Seattle indie-poppers Throw Me the Statue. West Coast indie go-to guy Phil Ek produces.

-- August 28-29, the 25th incarnation of the Street Scene festival will take over San Diego's East Village. This year's lineup includes M.I.A., Modest Mouse, the Dead Weather, Devendra Banhart, Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band, Band of Horses, Girl Talk, Mastodon, No Age, Deerhunter, and, um, the Black Eyed Peas.

"It's about watching yourself disappear." Clientele Announce New Album Details

On October 6, Merge will release Bonfires on the Heath, the fifth full-length of wispy, psychedelic folk-pop from the Clientele. It includes two covers. One is the band's take on "Tonight", a song by the obscure Swedish band Evergreen Daze Days. And the other is a new version of "Graven Wood", a cover of the Clientele's own song. In its original form, "Graven Wood" was the first song the band ever recorded.

Last month, Clientele lead singer Alasdair MacLean talked to Pitchfork about Bonfires on the Heath. Here's how he described the record: "It's more full of ghosts and doubts and signs and wonders than any other Clientele record. It's very spooky and tremendously sad at times. It's about watching yourself disappear." MacLean also said that it could very possibly be the band's final record: "I think it'd close the chapter quite well. If you don't have any more ideas you should just go away, I guess."

Stream: Modest Mouse: "Whale Song"

Modest Mouse are releasing their second 7" single in as many months, following up the post-Record Store Day offering "Satellite Skin"/"Guilty Cocker Spaniels" with "Autumn Beds" b/w "Whale Song". It's out in indie record stores tomorrow, June 20, for Vinyl Saturday, with a wide release set for Tuesday, June 23.

We've already shared the A-side with you, but now Tripwire has a stream of "Whale Song", and boy, is it as massively epic as the titular sea mammal.
