I saw Downloading Nancy at Sundance and thought it was brilliant. One of the most isolating, sad and depressing movies I've ever experienced, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I fail to understand why so many people at a festival that is dedicated to the art of film-making would appear to have not fully grasped the art. I can say this, as I'm no actor, no producer, and have no need for their opinions. If they cannot accept this film, as far from fact as it is certainly not, then what are they there for? Sundance will soon be sponsored by Disney Corp?
Kudos to the film. I've only seen the trailer, but it looks darkly intriguing -- and less dark than the acclaimed, Blue Velvet, may I say.
I think I'll pass. My wife loved The Secretary but sado-masochism doesn't do it for me at all.
Sad thing, I was hoping to see some mention of a movie he did a while back called She Creature. I actually liked that movie a lot, a horror film about a mermaid in Ireland that they kidnap and ship to America. Pretty film, and watching it late at night in a cheap motel actually scared me a little. That was actually my favorite film he was in.
