RONAN - One man is dead and another is in custody after an altercation at a Ronan bar Sunday night.

Ronan Police Chief Dan Wadsworth said 52-year-old Allen Metzgar of Ronan is being held in the Lake County Detention Center in Polson.

Metzgar was booked for assault with a weapon, although he has not been formally charged.

The name of the man who died has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Police said he was a 50-year-old male.

The alleged incident happened at the Valley Club in Ronan at approximately 8:25 p.m. Sunday.
