new group for those who have been in the system.

Hey.. I just started a group called Institutionalized, and is for anyone who has spent time in the system (in its many forms) from jail, mental institutions, boot camp, behavior modification programs, or even in government custody as a child, and foster care.

Come get support, and share your experiences with people who have been there.

It totally wouldn't work though as its a support group, and it would be insulting to downplay the experience by comparing it to a movie about spoiled yuppies who were in detention (except for that kid who smokes.. man.. what a tough life. )

ha.. you know.. I haven't gotten around to that yet.. but next time I'm in the Bay Area I will totally give it a whorl (I first misspelled that as "whore" and had to go back and change it).

The group is open to people facing institutionalization as well as if someone has a partner/child/parent who has been institutionalized past or present and wants support or advice.
