California Bay-Delta Authority (CBDA)
The California Bay-Delta Authority oversees the implementation of the CALFED Bay-Delta Program for the 25 state and federal agencies working cooperatively to improve the quality and reliability of California’s water supplies while restoring the Bay-Delta ecosystem. The Authority is comprised of state and federal agency representatives, public members, a member of the Bay-Delta Public Advisory Board, ex-officio legislative members and members at large.
The California Bay-Delta Act of 2003 established the Authority as CALFED’s governance structure and charged it with providing accountability, ensuring balanced implementation, tracking and assessing Program progress, ensuring the use of sound science to guide decision-making, encouraging public involvement and outreach, and coordinating and integrating related government programs.
