Complaint[edit]

do request from the whatever the writer who’s names had Mauricio’s of Orange executed for belief conflicts! It’s does seems and taste like catholically controversial —Preceding unsigned comment added by user:189.11.20.128 (talkcontribs)

I am not completely understand what you mean. But the most prominent victim executed within the Netherlands was Johan van Oldenbarneveld; he was executed by the ruling majority of which Maurice of Orange was part. I do, however not see why this would be Catholically controversial as this was done in the Protestant infighting between the Arminians (ie the Remonstrants) and the stricter Gomarists; which were two competing branches of protestantism. I hope I clarified the issue in enough detail. Arnoutf 23:13, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
