Comments may be moderated before or after they are sent live. We will not edit comments except under exceptional circumstances.
Repeated contravention of the house rules may result in the offender being banned from part or all of New Scientist.
We appreciate constructive and specific feedback on our content. If you would like to make comments about the magazine and/or website in general, please contact us here.
Removal of comments
Comments may be removed at our discretion if they:
- Are likely to disrupt the flow of conversation relating to the article under which they are posted
- Are off-topic
- Harass or are abusive to other members of the community or New Scientist staff
- Are libellous, offensive, or contain prejudice against any individual or group
- Encourage or condone unlawful activity, or break the law
- Contain personal contact details (other than a URL) or advertisements
- Attempt to circumvent the house rules by linking to other websites
- Are repetitious or spam
- Contain general feedback about New Scientist. We welcome such feedback via our online "contact us" form
New Scientist reserves the right to edit, move or delete any message, or terminate membership, at any time, for any reason.
The editor's decision about the suitability of all comments is final.
