Guidelines for Antenna Installations The intent of the antenna regulations in the District of Columbia is to reduce the visual impact of rooftop-mounted antennas and satellite dishes and any other accessory rooftop-mounted structures including equipment cabinets and shelters. Antennas must be mounted with the least visual impact. Flush mounting and "painting to match" the surrounding structures, as well as screening is encouraged to reduce visibility from public space. Sled mounting is discouraged due to increased height and visibility in some instances. Antennas and their equipment cabinets must meet a one-to-one setback or greater from the roof's edge. Until further notice from DC Public Schools, OP will not issue recommendations for installations on DC Public Schools.
