He acknowledged spending 45 days in therapy and said he would be leaving tomorrow (Feb. 20) for more treatment. Rapper Jay-z in UK Uproar Over Racist Behavior at Party

Rapper Jay-z has become embroiled in a nasty dispute in Great Britain involving allegations that security guards were selectively excluding people at his Brit Awards after-party based on their race. The guards allegedly refused to admit white party-goers into the VIP area, while black attendees were admitted immediately without standing in line. Jay-z, real name Shawn Carter, hosted the lavish bash at Merah, a London nightclub following his win for Best International Male Solo at the ceremony. »

Victoria Beckham: Fashion Must Nix Too-Thin Models

Former Spice Girl turned designer Victoria Beckham has joined the campaign to convince fashion houses to avoid hiring underweight models to walk the runways. Beckham, who launched her first couture clothing collection in 2008, made the announcement during her appearance on ABC’s “The View” on Wednesday (Feb. 17). The Council of Fashion Designers of America (Cfda) is leading the drive to convince the industry to be more responsible when dealing with young, vulnerable models, she said. »

Tiger Woods to Speak; Here's How He Can End Scandal

After three months of devastating revelations about his sex life, Tiger Woods will make his first public comments Friday (Feb. 19) in front of a select group of friends and reporters. The move is supposed to be the first step toward a return to normalcy for the golfer, if that’s possible. Agent Mark Steinberg made clear, however, that Woods would not take questions. “This is not a press conference,” Steinberg said today (Feb. 17). There was no word on whether estranged wife Elin Nordegren would be by his side when he speaks. »

Fox plays a circus performer who sprouts wings in puberty along side Mickey Rourke. She’s entirely aware that a decent performance could elevate her to the ranks of serious actress. »

Sade Tops Album Chart with Soldier of Love (video)

It seems the world just couldn’t wait for another Sade album. Her latest, Soldier of Love, has been proclaimed No. 1 around the world with over a half-million albums sold since its release. Take that Lady Gaga. The 51-year-old British singer’s album is the second to hit No. 1. Her first was 1986’s Promise. The album also marks Sade’s return to the charts since 2000’s multi-platinum Lovers Rock which debuted with 370,000 records sold. “It’s unimpeachably excellent,” Rolling Stone wrote, summing up the critical acclaim. »

Teen Phenom Justin Bieber Signs Publishing Deal (video)

Teeny-bopper sensation Justin Bieber has stepped into the major leagues of music. He’s just cut a new publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group, following up his platinum-selling album My World. Bieber, 15, began his music career three years ago by posting videos of himself singing on YouTube. He drew more than 10 million views online based on word of mouth alone. Bieber’s next album, My World (Part II), will be released in March. The lead single, “Baby” (co-written and produced by Tricky Stewart) has already reached No. 1 on the Pop iTunes chart. »

Lady Gaga Upstages UK's Brit Awards (video, photos)

There was no stopping over-the-top singer Lady Gaga at the 30th Annual Brit Awards, the UK equivalent of the Grammys. She wowed them with her costume and wowed them with her performance, a Madonna-esque tribute to fashion designer Alexander McQueen. Kristen Stewart's 'Stripper Movie' (Not) Gets Distributor

Twilight’s Kristen Stewart will get to show off her acting range, after all, in the indie movie, “Welcome to the Rileys.” The film has found a U.S. distributor and will debut in the fall. The movie, in which Stewart plays foul-mouthed, pot-smoking, over-sexed prostitute, was just screened at the Berlin Film Festival. The movie received only a luke-warm reception from critics, but the three main stars Stewart, Melissa Leo and James Gandolfini have been praised for their performances. Kristen will return to the Twilight gang, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Nikki Reed, Ashley Greene for the release of Eclipse later this year. »

Sean Penn Wants U.S. Troops to Stay in Haiti (video)

Actor Sean Penn has taken on a new role as international diplomat. He’s advising President Obama to keep military troops in Haiti for the foreseeable future to keep the earthquake ravaged country stabilized. “Right now you have a million displaced people. I would say 750,000 are in dire need of either medical aid or food and almost all in terms of shelter,” Penn told CNN host Larry King. “I think this is the most noble mission likely that the United States military has been involved in since Wor ld War II, but I support the military in right wars or unright wars. »

Trent Kowalik: Reflections on a Broadway Life at 14

Long Island’s Trent Kowalik is reaching the end of a two-year ride in the London and Broadway productions of Billy Elliott the Musical, and has essentially grown up while perfecting the title role. “Everything’s changed immensely since the show started,” Kowalik, 14, told TheImproper before a recent performance. “I mean, I’m not going to school anymore, obviously my whole life is doing Billy.” According to Kowalik, a life doing Billy consists of waking up early, getting tutored, and taking a class to hone his talents, whether it’s about dramatics, ballet, or physical therapy. »

'We Are the World' Video Uplifts Spirits Once Again

The star-studded official video for “We Are The World 25” shows how song can uplift spirits in the wake of a major disaster like the Haiti earthquake. Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion and Janet Jackson headed the all-star cast and appeared in the cover of the original 1985 single, written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie.
