Robby Benson and Barry Miller are young Jewish men in 1940's Brooklyn in this critically acclaimed adaptation of Chaim Potok's poignant novel. Though they share a common faith, Benson's Hassidic rabbi father (Rod Steiger) is a strict, orthodox tyrant who won't abide his son's friendship with Miller, whose own father (Maximilian Schell) is a liberal religious intellectual. Ron Rifkin and Hildy Brooks costar.

Thomas Hardy's "The Mayor of Casterbridge" gets a frontier makeover with this acclaimed Western about a wealthy Irish immigrant named Dillon (Peter Mullan) whose good fortune in the bucolic California town of Kingdom Come stems from a Faustian bargain he made years ago, a deal that returns to haunt him with the arrival of a railroad surveyor (Wes Bentley) and two mysterious women (Nastassja Kinski and Sarah Polley). Milla Jovovich ("Resident Evil") costars in this film from director Michael Winterbottom ("Welcome to Sarajevo").

Director Robert Altman's ("Gosford Park") comic portrait of a Dallas gynecologist nicknamed Dr. T (Richard Gere), whose career couldn't be better while his personal life falls apart. When his beloved wife (Farrah Fawcett) is hospitalized with a hopeless mental breakdown, Dr. T finds solace in the arms of a golf pro (Helen Hunt) while his cheerleader daughter (Kate Hudson) grapples with her own romantic problem: she's soon to be married but in love with another woman (Liv Tyler). Janine Turner, Tara Reid, Shelley Long and Laura Dern costar.

Marcel Iures, Terrence Dashon Howard, Vicellous Shannon, Cole Hauser, Rory Cochrane and Jonathan Brandis costar in this clever blend of courtroom fireworks and war-story heroics from director Gregory Hoblit ("Primal Fear").
