Motorola MC35 ENTERPRISE DIGITAL ASSISTANT
Motorola's track record for combining sophistication with durability isn't great. (See: RAZR.) But they redeem themselves with the MC35. This PDA/cell phone hybrid not only houses a speedy Intel 416 MHz processor, but also withstood 3 consecutive 6-foot drops and a splash of beer without any loss in performance. We would have liked more RAM and a higher res screen-especially for the price. But it's hard to complain, given the inclusion of EDGE, 802.11(b and g), and Bluetooth connectivity, solid push email performance, and extras like an integrated flashlight.
WIRED The ultimate gadget for outdoor productivity. Solid frame and non-slip design. Runs Windows Mobile 5.0 Premium Phone Edition. Large 2.8-inch QVGA screen easy to read in direct sunlight. Versatile 2.0 megapixel camera doubles as barcode scanner. Loud and clear speakerphone. Integrated GPS and SDIO slot.
TIRED Tough for a PDA, but not military or industrially certified for water, shock, or dust. Uninspired gray monotone design.
