Breezer Zag8 Folding Bike
With its squishy BioLogic saddle and 1.4 inch-thick tires, this reasonably priced aluminum eight-speed really does ride like a breeze. It also folds rather intuitively in about 20 seconds. After we broke it down, though, such gains were lost. Ours came with the optional $40 rear carrier rack. Ditching it would shave off a couple pounds, but even sans rack, this clunker's still 25 pounds- titanic for a foldable bike. We're not opposed to getting a little workout (see: the Wii), but hauling the folded Breezer up a flight of stairs sure left us winded.
WIRED SKS fenders and flaps let you take puddles with less splatter. Folding pedals allow for a more compact package. SRAM 3.0 Comp twist shifters and SRAM derailleur provide buttery smooth gear switching. Fat tires great for popping curves.
TIRED Handlebars need to be re-adjusted every time you unfold it. Bulky frame and geriatric aesthetics (including old-fogey kickstand) make you feel like you should be wearing orthopedic shoes and Depends, not spandex and clip-ins.
