Planning Together for Central Washington
Four major planning initiatives are underway to advance Central Washington, DC as the centerpiece of the region and a role model for the nation. The Government of the District of Columbia, National Capital Planning Commission, US Commission of Fine Arts, National Park Service, and Architect of the Capitol coordinated on these forward-looking planning projects. These initiatives respond to both local and federal challenges and opportunities and reflect the mission and goals of their respective agencies.
The guide, Planning Together for Central Washington*, details the five shared core objectives for the center city's future: 1) Welcoming Atmosphere, 2) Well-Connected Public Space, 3) Distinctive Spaces, 4) Green and Sustainable and 5) 21st Century Transportation.
