Description

Reworking the dramatic events of her own childhood, Eva Gardos makes her directorial debut with this moving Cold War memoir about exile, freedom and the meaning of home. The daughter of Budapest intellectuals (Tony Goldwyn and Nastassja Kinski), 15-year-old Suzanne (Scarlett Johansson) was raised by a childless couple in rural Hungary before being reunited with her parents, living in Los Angeles. Now, feeling out of place in the land of Elvis and the cheeseburger, rebellious Suzanne returns to Hungary to reconnect with her family's history.
