สงครามต่อต้านการก่อการร้าย (อังกฤษ: War on Terrorism) เป็นชื่อเรียกทั่วไปที่ใช้เรียกความขัดแย้งทางการทหาร ทางการเมือง ทางกฎหมายและอุดมการณ์ ซึ่งเป็นสิ่งที่มักจะใช้เรียกการกระทำของกลุ่มก่อการร้ายอิสลาม และใช้ในความหมายถึงปฏิบัติการทางทหารของสหรัฐอเมริกาและประเทศพันธมิตรภายหลังจากวินาศกรรม 11 กันยายน เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2544[6][7][8][9]

เป้าหมายที่กำหนดไว้ของการทำสงครามในสหรัฐอเมริกา คือ เพื่อปกป้องพลเมืองชาวอเมริกันและผลประโยชน์ทางธุรกิจในสหรัฐอเมริกาและต่างประเทศ การแบ่งแยกกลุ่มก่อการร้ายในสหรัฐอเมริกาและขัดขวางการดำเนินการขององค์การก่อการร้ายข้ามชาติ ซึ่งอยู่ภายใต้เงาของกลุ่มอัลกออิดะห์[1][10]

ทั้งการให้นิยามและนโยบายการทำสงครามยังคงถูกถกเถียงกันอยู่ในปัจจุบัน เนื่องจากได้มีการวิพากษ์วิจารณ์ว่าเป็นการอ้างเหตุผลเพื่อการชิงโจมตีก่อน การละเมิดสิทธิมนุษยชนและยังเป็นการละเมิดกฎหมายระหว่างประเทศอีกด้วย[11][12][13]
