'''Emanuel Vogel Gerhart''' (1817-1904) was an American minister of the German Reformed church. He was born at Freeburg, Pa., and was educated at Marshall_College and at the Mercersburg_Theological_Seminary. After acting as president of Heidelberg_College in 1851 he became Professor of Theology in the Theological Seminary of Tiffin, O., whence he was called to the presidency of Franklin_and_Marshall_College in 1855, where he also lectured on mental and moral Philosophy. In 1868, he was appointed Professor at the Reformed Church Seminary, Lancaster, Pa.
