A feature of Font Book is that users can download new fonts and install them. There are many sites in which this can be done. Once the new font is downloaded it can be loaded and used by Font Book.

Apple's Font Book faced some criticism regarding an inability to validate and auto-activate fonts.[1] These features were added to Font Book with the release of Mac OS X Leopard.[2]
