Programme Acquisition buy and manage acquired fiction for all of the BBC's television channels.
This includes feature films, TV movies, mini series, and drama/comedy series.
We also acquire movie-related documentaries and biographies.
Children's Programming have their own Acquisition Department.
We do not acquire general factual programmes

Most titles are acquired as finished items.
Note that other genres are responsible for acquired programmes for their individual genres - e.g. Entertainment acquire the Grammys every year with programme Acquisition concluding the contract.
This applies to all the other genres as well i.e. the editorial conversations happen in the genres and Programme Acquisition then do the contract/deal.
