Center for Educational Exchange with Viet Nam (CEEVN

Since 1988, Center for Educational Exchange with Viet Nam (CEEVN) has assisted Vietnamese institutions and individuals obtain access to educational opportunities throughout the world. In this work, CEEVN is especially concerned to strengthen links between Vietnamese institutions and the international academy and to work with those institutions to provide disadvantaged individuals and communities with opportunities for learning and cultural expression.

This fellowship program seeks talented young filmmakers who demonstrate social commitment and professional potential in directing, screenwriting and producing feature and documentary films for Viet Nam, or in the critical analysis of films.

The SCA and CEEVN

Young Vietnamese filmmakers come to USC's School of Cinematic Arts (and three other American universities) for a six-week production workshop for the Fellowships Master of Fine Arts in Film Production program.

For this workshop, the filmmakers will split into two groups. Each group will produce a short video. The lead instructor is associate professor Michael Uno from Film & Television Production.

The SCA workshop held in 2009 is the third to be held at USC. The first was in 2005, the second in 2007.

The project has been organized by the CEEVN and will be underwritten by the Ford Foundation.
