Steve Anderson directs the Ph.D. program in Media Arts & Practice. He is a scholar-practitioner working at the intersection of media, culture and technology. His research interests include Historiography: the theory & history of emerging technologies, documentary and experimental film & video and interactive media design.

Anderson is also the associate editor of Vectors Journal of Culture and Technology in a Dynamic Vernacular, an online journal seeking to redefine scholarly research and publication in the digital age. He is currently completing a book and companion digital media project titled Technologies of History, which examines the construction of alternative histories in film, video and digital media.
