Odžak is a town in the northern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, located near the river Sava, 10 km (6.2 mi) from the border with Croatia. Odžak is in the Posavina Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Before the war, 30 651 residents lived in the municipality in 16 local communities (villages). Over 5 000 people were employed primarily in industry and agriculture. From the largest industrial facilities were: "Strolit" - over 700 employees, "Energoinvest" - over 460 employees, "Vuntex" - over 400 employees, "Borovo" - about 200, 300 people were in Water Management Company "Posavina", there are also "Izbor", "Ratar", "Novogranja" etc.

In the 1991 census the municipality of Odžak had 30,651 residents, of which were 54.15% Croats, 20.32% Bosniaks, 19.85% Serbs, 3.70% Yugoslavs and 1.98% others. The city itself had 9377 residents.
