Postgraduate Visiting Students

Postgraduate Studies:
Application Period for academic year 2010-2011:
7th January - 30th June 2010

Price per ECTS credit during the 2009/2010 academic year is: 120€ (up to 20 credits)
There is not a minimum number of credits required.

1| What does it mean to be a postgraduate visiting student at UPF?
To be a postgraduate visiting student at UPF means to be a student taking a number of subjects, whether as part of a Master programme or a PhD Programme, without forming part of an official exchange programme in which UPF is taking part.

Please note that not all UPF Master Programmes are open to visiting students (check the chart below).

2| Who can be a visiting student to a Master Programme?
Any student applying for admission to UPF as a visiting student at a Master level must fulfill the requirements of the Master you are applying. Please check the specific requirements of each Master Programme open to visiting students (once inside the Master's webpage click on the "Admission" link):

3| Which are the procedures to register as a visiting student?
On being admitted, the visiting student must formally register for the courses he wishes to take at the Master Programme to which he has been admitted. This process must be completed the week before the term begins. Successful registration will depend on the availability of places on the courses applied for.

Please, bear in mind that the application period is for all terms of the academic year 2010-11

4| Presentation of applications
Applications for admission must include:

  • Application form. (Fill it in and send this form directly through Internet).
  • Documents required for the admission as a regular student (see the charts above or check the webpage of each Master or PhD programme).
  • A detailed curriculum vitae.
  • A document certifying your level of Catalan or Spanish, as appropriate.

5|Admission
Admission will be at the discretion of the corresponding Oficial Postgraduate Programme Commission to which you are applying.
If a student is admitted will obtain an accreditation of his status as a visiting student, as a proof of identity when accessing UPF services. Visiting students are entitled to use the same services as are offered to official exchange students.

6| Certification
Visiting students have the right to attend classes and to take the corresponding examinations in the subject areas to which they are registered, under the same conditions as regular students of Universitat Pompeu Fabra. They are also entitled to a certificate from the university outlining any qualifications obtained there.
