    Yo! Majesty Announce Details On Their Debut Album

    Florida female hip hop duo, Yo! Majesty, have unveiled the details on their debut album ‘Futuristically Speaking…Never Be Afraid’ due October 7th on Domino Records.

    The anticipated release will see production from Basement Jaxx, Sunship, Radio Clit, Dee kline, CLP, Mercedes and Hard Feelings UK.

    Preceding the album release, the duo will release the ‘Kryptonite Pussy EP’ on digital and vinyl formats on July 22.

    Canadians Invade London For New Bands Showcase

    Six new Canadian acts will appear in London next week as part of showcase for the country's new and emerging talent.

    The Canadian Blast will take place at The Borderline on June 19th and will feature The Dunes, Hunter Valentine and Laura Barrett.

    Two Hours Traffic, Karen Young and Keith & Renee will also perform at the event.

    Duncan McKie, president of the Canadian Independent Record Production Association (CIRPA), described the showcase as the perfect way to “ introduce these new acts to the world”.

    Exclusive: White Lies To Play Debut Headlining UK Tour

    White Lies will play their first full headlining UK tour later this autumn, Gigwise can reveal.

    The band, who have just released their debut single ‘Unfinished Business’, will open in Cardiff on September 21st.

    The thirteen date tour also includes shows in Sheffield (September 26th), Norwich (October 1st) and Leeds (October 4th).

    The tour will conclude with a show at the ICA in London on October 7th.

    Support on the tour will come from Collapsing Cities.

    White Lies are also headlining the Introducing New Music stage at this years Radio 1 One Big Weekend on May 10th.

    The Dodos Sign To Wichita In The UK

    Hotly tipped Californians The Dodos have signed to Wichita for the release their second album.

    The band were one of the highlights of this year’s SXSW after a mammoth run of shows.

    They will release ‘Visiter’ in July,the follow up 2006’s ‘Beware Of The Maniacs’, while the single ‘Red And Purple’ will precede it.

    Speaking about the signing Head of Wichita Mark Bowen told Music Week: “Across an amazing seven shows in four days the band literally blew our minds - we saw beautiful acoustic shows where the vocals and words shone out and then gigs which had everyone talking about Led Zeppelin and rock!!”

    The band are crossing the pond for a series of shows in Europe next month.

    Ting Tings Singer Rejected FHM Shoot Request

    Katie White, vocalist and guitarist of The Ting Tings, has told Gigwise that Mercury Records made a somewhat frank request when her previous band Dear Eskiimo were signed to the label.

    "In our last band we were at Mercury and in the first ever meeting they brought that up. I was literally like fuck off!" explained the singer.

    Jules and Katie also revealed during the interview that they had plans to play all the main festivals this summer but were waiting for deals to be done.

    Lykke Li Confirms UK Release For Debut Album

    Lykke Li is set to give her debut album ‘Youth Novels’ a full release in the UK this summer.

    The Swedish songstress originally released the record in her homeland through her own label LL Recordings in January.

    The album, which was produced by Bjorn sans his pals Peter and John, will be released on June 2.

    Hotly-tipped Oldham outfit Twisted Wheel have announced details of a sprawling UK tour.

    The band will play a total of 23 dates kick-starting tonight at Liverpool Korova and winding up at Manchester Academy on May 9.

    The trio have been recently snapped up by Columbia Records and will be proving what all the fuss is about on the dates.

    The Ting Tings Announce New UK Tour

    Salford’s finest duo, The Ting Tings, have announced details of another UK headline tour starting this May.

    The pair will kick of proceedings with a trip to Brighton venue, Komedia, on May 15 with the tour culminating at the Leeds Cockpit on May 25.

    The band, who are in Wales today launching their previously announced sold-out tour, are scheduled to release their debut album, ‘We Started Nothing’ on May 19.

    Bumblebeez Launch Art Exhibition

    Australian hip-hop act The Bumblebeez have announced that they will be showcasing their artwork in a visual show at Goodhood in Hoxton, London, from today.

    Founding member Chris Colonna always intended The Bumblebeez to be a two-headed project, with this art show indicative of his plans to continue working as a visual artist within the framework of the band.

    The art show precedes The Bumblebeez debut album release, ‘Prince Umberto & The Sister Of Ill’, due out later this year.
