Happy International Day Of Slayer! \M/

Slayer

Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson might have sang that 666 was The Number Of The Beast, but today is alllllllll about Slayer.

That's because it's the International Day Of Slayer! Yes, it's June 6, which mean it's the sixth day of the sixth month of the year. It'd be considerably more awesome if it was also the sixth year of the century, but that already happened in 2006, so we'll make do with what we've got now.

Speaking of June 6, 2006, the International Day Of Slayer actually started on that day, and it's been carried on for five additional years.

And hey, the sixth anniversary of celebrating the International Day Of Slayer on the sixth day of the sixth month of the year is close enough, right? So... there's basically no excuse for you not to head right over to your stereo and put Reign In Blood or South Of Heaven on right now. Today is totally demonic.

With fond memories of the young lad I knew in first year university who once scrawled "SLAYER" on our dorm's hall wall in permanent black marker — shoulda used red, Dave! — I feel like you should check out the official website of the International Day Of Slayer. On it, you'll find some of suggested things to do today to celebrate, such as covering your favourite Slayer tune or harassing the United Nations to get the International Day Of Slayer recognized as a holiday.
