[edit] Nice to see you around again :)

Hey. How are you doing? I see you haven't been around in a while. Me either, crazy amount school stuff and I had been a bit too involved in the Education and GLAM community, so hit burnout. I am heading to K-State in the fall, which has an excellent children's lit program, so maybe I will get more involved in the Wikiproject. Hope all is going well, and that you and I can both get more involved in working on content. Happy editing!Sadads (talk) 19:07, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

I am doing well, just quite busy! Preparing to leave for school in the fall, studying English. I'm hoping to do some more editing this summer, but I'm afraid my activity will drop drastically in September. I did get burned out with too many activities, and not any good focus. So now I just patrol my watchlist and edit on a whim. :) I will hope to see you around! PrincessofLlyr royal court 03:04, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
Well enjoy your first semester. The next four years are going to be amazing. What I found when I got to college is that the connection between my interest in Wikipedia and my research and writing skills from coursework led me to writing more better quality Wikipedia content. It was as if I was suddenly ready to excel at both school and Wikipedia.
Also, consider, after your first semester, engaging witht he evangilizing side of the WP:United States Education Program. Talking to faculty and support staff about using Wikipedia as a teaching tool is very important, and such evangilization would be a great use of your skills as an experienced Wikipedian and Online Ambassador. Also, supporting professors as a Campus Ambassador is much more satisfying then the Online side of things, and having someone that intimately understands Wikipedia working with the professors provides a huge advantage over non-Wikipedia Campus Ambassador work. The in person stuff provides much more validation then the online activities; I know part of my burnout was partially because I was so involved in unsatisfactory onlien activities.
Speaking of in person stuff, where are you going to school? If it is in a metropolitan area, maybe we can get you involved in the activities of the local meetup groups. We are making a big push right now to get United States Wikimedians involved in in person activities so that we can engage more people into our community. (and, again, the meetups are much more fun then the online activities and add a really different element to your Wikimedia experience).
Good luck, and if you every need any help on anything at all (including school stuff, I am a Masters student in English), feel free to contact me on my talk page or via email, Sadads (talk) 14:45, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
I do think that the research and writing I do for school will encourage more editing here, although I am unsure of how much time I will have for in-depth work. Something I will simply have to find out as the semester goes.
I will certainly look into spreading interest in Wikipedia. This is something I had already considered. I hadn't thought about a Wikimedia chapter, so I'll definitely look that up!
I appreciate your offer of help and I might take you up on it sometime when I'm completely stumped! PrincessofLlyr royal court 21:40, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
Brilliant, in regards to the meetup type activities, the meetup groups page is at WP:Meetup. We are also forming a group called Wikipedians Active in Local Regions of the United States (http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_United_States_Chapters_Council#WALRUS_committee ). We are providing support for local meetup activities during different times of the year. You may want to get on that mailing list or try holding a meetup in your area, Sadads (talk) 00:16, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
