A Wiki Gnome (or WikiGnome), is the slang term for a wiki editor who makes useful incremental edits without clamouring for attention. WikiGnomes work behind the scenes of a wiki, tying up little loose ends and making things run more smoothly, fixing things like typos, poor grammar, and broken links. Some editors who also create new articles and affect the substantive content of the articles they edit exhibit WikiGnome-like behavior as part of their work, while some editors limit themselves to WikiGnome behavior only. Placing the user box {{User wikipedia/WikiGnome}} on a userpage will add a user to this category.
