Norman Naimark
Norman M. Naimark (born 1944 New York) is an American historian, and author who specializes in modern Eastern European history, and genocide and ethnic cleansing in the region.[1]
He is Robert and Florence McDonnel Professor of Eastern European Studies, at Stanford University,[2] and a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution.[3]

Naimark received all of his degrees at Stanford. He taught at Boston University, and was a fellow at Harvard University's Russian Research Center before returning to Stanford as a member of the faculty in the 1980s.
He is a member of the editorial boards of a number of professional journals such as:
He has been awarded the Officers Cross of the Order of Merit by Germany.
He is most known to the public for his acclaimed study The Russians In Germany.[4]
Naimark is the Spring 2011 recipient of Alex Springer Berlin Prize from the American Academy in Berlin.
