Argiris Kambouris (Greek: Αργύρης Καμπούρης; born January 24, 1962 in Athens, Greece) is a retired Greek professional basketball player.

Career[edit]

Kambouris played for Olympiakos BC from 1978 to 1995 winning three Greek Championships (1993, 1994, 1995). He was a Greek Cup finalist in 1986. He also participated at two Euroleague finals (1994 Tel Aviv, 1995 Saragoza).

Kambouris was an important member of the Greek National Squad that won the gold medal at Eurobasket 1987, and the silver medal at Eurobasket 1989. He also won the 6th place in the 1990 FIBA World Championship. Kambouris was the hero of the Eurobasket 1987 final, when he scored the game's two winning points, with free throws 3 seconds before the end of the second overtime, giving Greece a dramatic 103:101 victory over the Soviet Union.
