The lights are on
While art director Jeremy Price and the rest of the team at Warner Bros. Games Montreal are looking to the previous Arkham titles for inspiration, they hope to leave their own mark with a couple of key differences. Since this is a prequel, Batman is a mysterious force in the streets of Gotham. Even the cops aren't sure if he is a myth or supernatural. To emphasize this mystery and fear surrounding the character, the team is planning on amping up their use of silhouettes and film noir-esque low-key lighting to make him a more imposing figure. The developers are also taking advantage of the holiday setting for the game by creating Christmas decorations that are unique to the haunted world of Gotham City.
Watch the video below to learn more about how the team is changing the look of Batman and how the Christmas setting will change the way you experience the game.

i cant wait to get this i want to know how the story plays out
The snow falls on murderers and madmen, the same as it does on innocent children... and it can't stop a bullet.
just amazing
Man, I love gaming. I really do. I'm excited for this game and the other amazing games to come out in the future.
Man GI you guys always get me pumped for games with the cover articles you do but you guys never get any gameplay trailers on the site just interviews with the devs and some concept art. You guys gotta get some gameplay for these games up on the site that's what we really wanna see.
Sounds Interesting
I'm partially worried about story, and I just wish Conroy was returning to voice the Bat. A Year One-style story doesn't really excite me, since Batman isn't renowned that much, and it rules out Robin.
I'm still hesitant about the new writers but everyone else on the team seems very dedicated and on the level. Also, I'm very excited about their emphasis on the film noir aesthetic and I think it will really add to the experience if they can pull it off. Plus I really, really love the Christmas theme. I don't think I'd be quite as excited if it wasn't for that choice of season.
On a quick side note, over the last few weeks I've been having sporadic dreams about this game which feature different villains each time. So far Ratcatcher, Maxie Zeus, Mad Hatter, and Joker have made appearances in one capacity or another. Does this mean anything? Probably not but I do recall having dreams about Twisted Metal: Black before it was even announced so maybe my subconscious is onto something.
I really can't wait to see some gameplay.
One thing I love about Arkham is its beautiful art, and I hope that Origins lives up to that for sure. From the screenshots, looks like they will.
