Mike Harris, Veteran EMI Exec, Named EVP and General Manager of Caroline

Mike Harris, an executive with and within EMI, most recently CFO at Blue Note, has been named executive vice president and general manager of Capitol Music Group's independent services division Caroline.

Harris will be working closely with Caroline's brand-new president, Dominic Pandiscia, whom Harris referred to in a statement as "a good friend."

"I am thrilled that [Capitol chairman/CEO] Steve Barnett and [Capitol EVP] Michelle Jubelirer are already bringing such great new energy and renewed focus to the company, and that they are looking to Caroline to play an important role in the future success of the Capitol Music Group.  I'm excited to continue working with great independent artists, executives and label brands to help them achieve success," said Harris.

Dominic Pandiscia said he is "thrilled to be continuing [my] association [with Harris] as we fulfill our mandate to take Caroline to new heights.  Mike's leadership of EMI's Label Services unit since 2010, and his knowledge of the Independent sector of the music business makes him all the more valuable as we design and execute our plans for Caroline's growth."

Over his 15 years with EMI in various capacities Harris has worked with artists such as Katy Perry, Norah Jones, Smashing Pumpkins and Slash, among others.

Harris is the most recent hire in a wave of Capitol Music's executive procurements, following Universal Music Group's acquisition of EMI in 2012. Just last week, former Fontana Distribution head Ron Spaulding was named SVP of sales.
