Billboard Bits: Santana, Idlewild, John O'Hurley

The release date for Santana's new album, "All That I Am," is on the move again. Having already been bumped from June 21 to Sept. 6, the Arista set is now pegged for a Nov. 1 release. No reason was given for the latest date change. Arista is also eyeing a Nov. 15 street date for the Santana DVD "A&E Live by Request."

"All That I Am" will be Santana's first studio album since 2002's "Shaman" and is expected to feature guest appearances by OutKast's Big Boi, Mary J. Blige, Los Lonely Boys, the Black Eyed Peas, Sean Paul, Robert Randolph and Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett.

Santana is in the midst of a short Japanese tour with Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter. A new leg of North American dates begins Sept. 15 in San Jose, Calif., and will feature support from Randolph and his Family Band.

Scottish rock act Idlewild will begin a month-long North American tour Sept. 6 in Boston. The 17-date trek comes in support of the group's upcoming album, "Warnings/Promises," due Aug. 16 via Capitol. The album debuted at No. 9 on the U.K. album chart upon its release there earlier this summer.

Before the North American tour, Idlewild is finishing up commitments abroad, including three acoustic shows in England beginning Friday (July 29) in Holmfirth.

Although most are familiar with his role as the eccentric catalog retailer J Peterman on "Seinfeld" or his turns on the hit ABC summer series "Dancing With the Stars," John O'Hurley is also a composer, pianist and classically trained vocalist. To that end, he has teamed up with cellist Marston Smith (Stevie Wonder, Brandy) to release his debut album, "Peace of Our Minds," a two-disc collection of his compositions.

Among the 20 selections included on the instrumental album is the Ireland-inspired "Suite for Skibereen" and "For Lisa," a piece he wrote for his wife for their wedding last year. Each song on the set can be sampled on O'Hurley's official Web site. It can also be purchased through CDBaby.com.
