Nightwish 'Once' Again At Euro Chart Summit

Finnish hard rock quintet Nightwish, which topped European Top 100 Albums two weeks ago with its fifth album "Once" (Spinefarm/ Nuclear Blast), returns to No. 1 on the pan-European survey. "Once" holds at No. 2 in Germany and No. 4 in Switzerland.

Last week's leader, the Cure's self-titled set for I Am/Geffen, suffers second-week falls in several markets, including 2-5 in Italy, 4-8 in France and 8-30 in the United Kingdom. However, "The Cure" climbs 9-4 in Belgium and debuts at No. 10 in Sweden. The band continues its international touring at the Xacobeo Festival in Santiago, Spain tomorrow (July 16).

The highest new entry on Top 100 Albums is Andrea Berg's "Du" (Ariola), at No. 7 overall, after the female German vocalist's new set started at No. 1 in her home market and at No. 3 in neighboring Austria. Also bowing in the composite top 10 is "Room on the 3rd Floor" (Universal) by rising British pop act McFly. The album, which contains the group's bestselling singles "5 Colours in Her Hair" and "Obviously," sells 61,000 in the United Kingdom in its opening week to open at No. 1 there and No. 9 in total.

O-Zone's "Dragostea Din Tei" (Media Services/Time/Vale) logs a fifth week at No. 1 on Eurochart Hot 100 Singles. The highest new entry on the singles chart is Elvis Presley's "That's All Right" at No. 11. It was released by RCA as a U.K. single for the first time July 5 to mark the 50th anniversary of its recording and enters the British chart at No. 3 on sales of 19,000 units. It's Presley's 116th British hit and, after 2002's "A Little Less Conversation" and last year's "Rubberneckin'," gives him top five U.K. hits across three consecutive years for the first time since 1961-63.

Presley's success is part of a banner week for BMG, which has the top four singles in the United Kingdom. Usher's "Burn" (Arista) is in its second week at No. 1 there, and is up 5-4 on the Eurochart; Britney Spears' "Everytime" (Jive) moves back up 3-2, helping it to hold at No. 2 on Hot 100 Singles; and Will Young's title track from his album "Friday's Child" (S/BMG), which is quadruple platinum for 1.2 million U.K. shipments, enters at No. 4 locally and No. 16 on the Eurochart.

French rapper Rohff makes a No. 5 start in France with his new album "A Fierte des Notres" (Delabel), while Norwegian acoustic duo Kings of Convenience is doing well in Italy with its sophomore album "Riot on an Empty Street" (Virgin). "Riot" rises 14-9 in Italy, and debuts at No. 53 in Sweden. Meanwhile in Holland, Counting Crows' "Films About Ghosts" collection (Polydor) climbs 2-1.
