Scissor Sisters' Viral Video 'Let's Have a Kiki' Kicks Up Sales

Thanks to a delirious, (semi-nsfw) fan-made video for Scissor Sisters' album cut "Let's Have a Kiki," the band has found itself a budding hit single.

The tune is an album cut on the group's new album "Magic Hour" and is celebrated in an unofficial video created by club promoter Videodrome Discotheque. The clip was uploaded on June 20 to Videodrome's official YouTube and Vimeo accounts and has since earned 100,000 views. In turn, the song's sales have steadily grown, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

In the week ending June 24, the track's sales shot up 52% and eclipsed those of the album's current single, "Only the Horses." Since then, "Let's Have a Kiki" has increasingly sold more every week. In the most recent tracking frame (ending July 8), the song moved 2,000 downloads -- posting an 18% jump over the previous week.

The video has earned raves from Scissor Sisters, with its front man Jake Shears tweeting to Videodrome, "I am obsessed with your video. It is one of the best things I've ever seen. Thank you thank you thank you. Fking killed it."

There's no word yet on if "Let's Have a Kiki" will be an official single from the album. In the meantime, "Only the Horses" rises 23-17 this week on Billboard's Dance/Club Play Songs chart.
