A new ensemble black comedy American Hustle - which has just had its world premiere - is emerging as a strong awards season contender.

It brings together Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper in a story of con artists in New Jersey and New York in the 1970s.

The film is directed by David O'Russell whose romantic comedy-drama Silver Linings Playbook received much acclaim last year.

Talking Movies' Tom Brook reports.
