The question that Amazon asked was did this GQ All Access app meet my expectations. it did not meet my basic expectations which were:

1) to be able to have "all access" the way i have access to other e-mags like men's health, details, etc. - meaning, i go to my newsstand, select the magazine, and access the content.
2) i did not expect to be forced to view advertisements every time i access my content, maybe this is the "all access" part
3) i did expect a magazine just like the other mags on my kindle, and a similar experience to what i would get from the paper format.

this is my account of my experience:

signed up for a 6 month print and e book membership for $6. downloaded the all access app, created accounts and agreed to terms and conditions taking 30 minutes or so. then after navigating which content i will have access to, i selected and downloaded the e-mags, which took longer than what i expected based on previous experiences with similar mags. selected "view", then viewed the content that is downloaded to my kindle but only accessible through this app. the app forces me to view ads for previous editions for sale as well as ads to subscribe(which i have already done). then upon accessing the content, the format is different than any kindle mag i have yet to read. not necessarily in a bad way, but remember my expectations were for it to be similar to a print version, and similar to other kindle mags. it was not. it took me some time to figure out how to navigate, but once i did, i understand why they format this way.

so in summary, 2 stars because i understand that some people may like access to back ordered content, and some may not mind the advertisements when accessing the app. Read more ›

The app isn't that great but it was effective. I used my iPad and it worked fine. For the discount price its a good buy

Unable to sign up for digital access. Hopefully the print copies with arrive but very disappointed with the digital copy

I thought I was getting a printed copy delivered in addition to the digital version but I have yet to receive any of the printed versions which it said I was getting.

This review is ONLY for the digital format. More specifically, the "immediate delivery of the digital format." I ordered this based on the indication that the digital subscription is immediately available when you place the order. This is not the case. Two hours later, the site says "pending" and that they are working with the publisher.

Update: it actually took about 3 days before the digital format was available. To date, I've not received any explanation from amazon so I do not know the particular reason why.

I'm more interested in fashion than culture, although the two are, of course, intertwined. Since the articles interest me but little, I rarely look at the magazine on my phone. For everything else, I much prefer to have the big glossy pages in hand. Subsequently, having All Access is a nominal benefit for me.

GQ articles was fantastic and the magazine provide links to clothing sales. Lastly, GQ helped with putting my wardrobe together and I received the magazine for six dollars.
