My goal was to purchase plain, durable white towels made with honest craftsmanship at a reasonable price. To me, the idea of a 'hospitality towel' translated that perfectly.

We purchased (12) bath towels and (12) hand towels, and so far are extremely pleased.

When initially contemplating the purchase of these towels, I had a variety of concerns based on some of the feedback/comments I found here. I'd like to address those in an effort to be helpful to others.

One poster made some comments that these towels were rough and/or not soft enough. That spurrned an brief inter-family debate with my wife, who immediately complained that she 'didn't want to dry herself with sandpaper'. Fortunately, there were enough competing review to make those comments questionable, and we did order them. But to address that original posters comments -- I think he / she might've been trying to convey that these aren't the kind of towels you will find in the penthouse suite of the Ritz-Carlton -- but it came across poorly. Let me say that these are regular cotton towels with the softness of regular cotton towels, no different from any other cotton towel I've used -- they are not 'too rough' or 'too soft' -- and they are pretty much identical to the towels they replaced, which were midrange Target/Walmart towels.

The other comment that had me nervous was that they shed. I shave only every other day, so of course a towel that regularly sheds is a dealbreaker. I have the towels some four days now. When I received them, I immediately threw them in the laundry, and they shed. In the dryer, they shed some more. The first wash/dry cycle was pretty nasty; scary enough, in fact, to make me think I made a bad purchase.Read more ›

High quality and very soft

I bought these towels after purchasing and liking Martex washcloths. These towels feel very soft on your skin, they are high quality and will not fray. The washcloths that are similarly constructed has been in daily use for a year and they still look and feel good. They are sized 16 in by 30 in.

P.S. When I was buying I did a bit of research on the manufacture and found that they also make washcloths and towels that are sold in Bed, Bath and Beyond. So that helped with the confidence that they will be decent quality. And they are!

Good towel for the gym

I have a membership at my local YMCA and they recently stopped providing towels. After doing some research, I decided to buy these and am pleased. They were a little bigger than I thought, but that's not a problem. These work great, and it is nice to have 12 of them to use between laundry loads.

I purchased these towels specifically for bathroom hand-towel use. They are not luxurious, but thick/heavy duty enough for what I need them for.

Just like the other reviews, be prepared to clean out your dryer screen repeatedly with the amount of lint that comes out of these when brand new. You could literally make your own cotton balls! After first wash and dry, I emptied out my dryer screen, then continued another 30 mins on air dry cycle and i was still able to fill the screen up again!

Awesome hand towels :D always using them!

I love these have had them for like 4 months now maybe longer, and they are great bright white and you get 12 so can switch them for a dry one after a few days of heavy use or every day if your like that. We have it in the bathroom. I will say I remember having to wash and dry them a couple of times because I HATE LINT on my skin, They are not as linty as thick super soft towels and after a couple of washes NO LINT AT ALL :D so they rock because we have expensive thick soft towels that still after a year were linty so I needed a Change and these are perfect not rough but not like fussy :D you wont be disappointing if you want a good every day hand towel.

Great Quality, Great Price; Perfect for the Gym

I got these towels to use for workout sessions at the gym. They are thick, soft and excellent quality. At the price I paid I'm not going to get upset if I loose one or two. I can wash them and store them in my car so I always have a 2 week fresh supply of towels when I go to work out.

You need to wash them befor you use them or you are going to get a bunch of lint stuck on your face.

They actually got fluffier after they were washed and dried. Don't forget to empty the lint trap afterwards. These like all new towels shed a lot of lint on the first wash.

Good, basic hand towel

I bought these to use as cleaning rags. They are nice and fluffy and surprisingly good quality for the price. I'm not sure I would use them as hand towels, they don't look quite that nice, but certainly good as a multipurpose towel.
