EricT (who sometimes writes under the nom de plume Etienne de L'Amour) has been studying the works of the thinker, writer and Sufi teacher Idries Shah since 1986. And, no, that definitely does not mean that "he converted to Islamic Sufism" nor to "Sufi Islam"; he describes himself as spiritual but not religious. A sadly misguided rebel and hippie in his youth, and late developer who fell through the cracks, EricT was interested in environmentalism, pacifism, vegetarianism, Buddhism, Zen, meditation and various esoteric traditions prior to his involvement in the Sufi Way. He is also interested in both traditional and contemporary Western psychology.
For many years he ran a Sufi, development, psychology, humanitarian and environment-related website at sarmouni.dyndns.org, which has now been taken off-line. Details of the novels and many other Sufi-related pdfs are now available at the Dropbox.
